Mackenzie Lynn Dern Santos (born March 24, 1993) is an American professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner. She is a former World No. 1 IBJJF competitor, currently ranked 6th in the women’s divisions. He is the ADCC and No GE BJJ (Black Belt) World Champion. As of November 8, 2022, she is ranked 7th in the UFC women’s strawweight rankings.

Wesley santos split
Dern’s career was on an upward trajectory before recently switching teams, something he has already done several times in his brief MMA career. The 27-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu star spent the early part of his pro fighting career with The Lab in Arizona before going down his winding path for Parillo’s team.
A current friendship with RVCA founder Pat Tenor helped pave the way for Dern to make ends meet at her current home base.
“I had heard that before,” said Dern. “Pat, the owner of RVCA, has known me since I was a little jiu-jitsu kid. I knew it was more of a private gym, RVCA, so I wasn’t sure if Coach Parillo would want me to train. I know he has coached such great fighters, Chris [Cyborg], BJ Penn, who is a jiu-jitsu guy. So I really like that BJ was jiu-jitsu and coached him to be the champion were able to work.

Mackenzie Dern is married to Wesley Santos and is a surfer by profession. Dern has a one-year-old daughter, Moa, with Santos.
The 24-year-old Brazilian occasionally appears on MacKenzie Dern’s social media posts and has been seen supporting his wife in training. The family was seen enjoying a day at the beach in January this year, where Wesley Santos even took his little bundle of joy for a ride in the sea.
The couple usually prefers to keep their personal life under wraps. However, on a special occasion not long ago, Wesley Santos made headlines in the mixed martial arts media for a scuffle with Team Black House.

His father is a native of Brazil, who has won several championships in grappling. However, the identity of his biological mother has not been revealed in the media.
As a child, Mackenzie moved back and forth between Arizona and Brazil. She can communicate in both English and Portuguese, claiming that Portuguese has become her preferred language after learning it from her father and stepmother, both of whom are Bazilian.
