SPRINGVILLE, Utah – Police in Springville say they do not expect a teenage girl who was shot Wednesday afternoon.
Police say 17-year-old Lily Conroy was found in a car with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital by medical helicopter.
Police say Conroy is currently on life support to keep his organs safe. Conroy hails from Springville and is a student at Springville High School.
“The family wants to carry on their daughter’s legacy by helping someone in need. The family would like Lily to survive by donating her organs to a local family. If there is a family in the local area that needs an organ donation, contact the Springville Police Department.”
Police have identified the man who died as 19-year-old Masao Kanga of Springville.
Earlier on Wednesday, Springville police began their search after receiving information about a possible situation between the two youths. As police searched the area, they said Kanga reached out to her mother saying she would be at Hoble Creek Park.
After a while, the police reached the park and shot the teenager and found Kanga dead.

Friends of a 17-year-old Springville girl killed by an ex-boyfriend are trying to raise money for her funeral expenses.
Lily Conroy was shot by Masao Kanga while the two were at Hoble Creek Park on Wednesday. Kanga was found dead at the scene, while Conroy was taken to a hospital where she remains on life support so that her organs can be donated.
According to a GoFundMe page named after Lily, she is survived by her parents and two younger sisters. Page is hoping to raise up to $20,000 for Lilly’s burial.
The page reads, “Everyone in the community is shocked and saddened by this tragedy that has affected so many. Please consider donating to show your love and support for this family as they go through many healing and final Sanskar is facing expenses.”
A wake was held in Springville on Thursday night for the families and friends of the two teenagers involved.
“Right now we can only love them,” he said. “Amazing family. They have been a part of this community for many years and are greatly respected, loved by all, as well as their children. Simply wonderful people.”
