Reid, 31, became an Internet star in early 2016, losing more than 300 pounds in less than two years. But a few weeks ago she “was sick and couldn’t afford any food,” Danny wrote on Instagram, according to People magazine.

Weight loss influencer Lexi Reed is recovering in hospital and working on getting “back to health” after being placed on a ventilator in a medically induced coma, her husband Danny shared Thursday.

Reid, 31, began to become seriously ill a few weeks ago, Danny explained in a post on his Instagram account.

“A few weeks ago Lexi was getting sick and couldn’t put down any food. She then started acting differently, so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her to the ICU, a medically induced comma But, on a ventilator, and me that his organs started failing,” he said.

Had he waited any longer, Danny said, the doctors told him, the outcome would have been dire.
