Age

Latavius Murray: Age| Fantasy| Highlights| Injury| Where is going

The age of Latavius Murray is 32-year-old.

Fantasy

Murray immediately moves to the Denver backfield which had just lost to Jevont Williams (knee) for the rest of the 2022 season. The running back veteran will share touch with Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone and could be worth a speculative addition to owners looking to strike the discount wire jackpot in a backfield that should have plenty of opportunities for Murray to seize.

Highlights

The Denver Broncos suffered a devastating blow on Sunday as they lost season-leading Rush Jevont Williams after tearing their ACL and LCL against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos are reportedly bringing in a veteran to help make up for the loss, as NFL media reports that Denver is signing Latvius Murray from the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.

Murray actually played in his first game of the season last Sunday, as he ran for a touchdown on 57 yards and 11 carries in London, where the Saints fell to the Minnesota Vikings, 28-25. He was promoted to the active roster this week after Alvin Kamara was inactive due to a rib injury.

Murray was originally a sixth-rounder for the Oakland Raiders in 2013. UCF Products reached for a career-high 1,066 yards and six touchdowns in his third NFL season. Murray has also spent time with the Vikings and Baltimore Ravens – with whom he scored 501 yards and six touchdowns for the last season. Now 32-years-old, Murray brings a seasoned presence to offense that so far has been disappointing.

Injury

The Raiders were counting on Murray to revive their running game in 2015, so it’s a devastating blow if they are forced to miss extensive time.

He missed his rookie season with a foot injury, but he excelled down the stretch in 2014 with 424 rushing yards, 143 receiving yards and two total touchdowns behind 5.2 yards per carry. He also displayed versatility with 19 kick returns.

In 2015, Murray continued to perform, coming into Week 10 with 630 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Oakland will likely turn to Roy Helu Jr., who has at least shown glimpses of productivity earlier in his career, if Murray is forced to sideline again. Helu covered a total of 1,019 yards as a rookie in 2011.

Where is going

The #Broncos are signing RB Latavius Murray off the #Saints’ practice squad, per source. With Javonte Williams out for the season, Murray now joins Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone in the Denver backfield.
