Second-year guard LaMelo Ball is one of the most promising young players in the NBA today. Thanks to their efforts, the Charlotte Hornets are not only in the running for a playoff spot, but are finally gaining some legitimacy after years of serving as the Eastern Conference.

On Wednesday night, the Hornets will face the Atlanta Hawks for a shot at the postseason.

Unfortunately, Ball didn’t find himself in the spotlight on Wednesday morning.

Rather, what he found himself in the news for was a video that surfaced hours before the big game.

Tonight is big night for LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets.

The Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks will face off in an Eastern Conference play-in game for a chance to survive their season. The winner of the play-in game between the Hawks and Hornets will go on to face the Cavaliers. Ahead of the big matchup, Hornet superstar LaMelo Ball is going viral for all the wrong reasons.

We found some video of LaMelo Ball smoking in particular which is cool.

Just a refresher course on the NBA’s policy on marijuana. Technically it is still banned. Although he is no longer a random drug test player for marijuana.

So basically they don’t want to bust any player for using marijuana, which is good news for LaMelo. He appears to be really into the greens.

If the Hornets can win tonight, we should probably expect some heavy smoking post game.

Smoking weed

Piggybacking from cigarette threads (and there were answers about weed too), what do NBA players smoke? I think it should be a vast majority. Shit, I sold weed to Earl Clarke and Derrick Character while they were in Louisville. I’ve heard Rondo blows crazy weed, and also read about Greg Oden and Lamar Odom’s master weed smokers. However, I don’t think Kobe or LeBron smoke. Kobe because he’s too intense for that stuff, LeBron probably doesn’t because he’s so ridiculously high profile that it would ruin a lot of his public image. And their children are also a big responsibility.
