LaMelo LaFrance Ball (born August 22, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Hornets as the third overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft.

Height
Let me start by saying that I am skeptical about any non-combination/NBA certified measure. You always see players come into leagues at a certain height, so wouldn’t you know it, they end up being a few inches shorter. One player I think we’ll see a “shrink” this year is LaMelo. His party claims he is 6’8″, but looking at pictures of him next to RJ Hampton (who is supposedly 6’5, but even with him, I suspect) seems to be quite in stature. are identical. I’m guessing he’s probably 6’4 by 6’5, which is still a pretty big size for a guard anyway. But let’s not assume that he has the shape of Lucca or magic.
G league
The Middle Ball brother currently plays for the Greensboro Swarm affiliated with the Charlotte G League, but LaVar Ball dropped out of the NBA club in an interview with TMZ Sports for keeping his son out of the big leagues. “They don’t understand what they got,” Ball said. “They should let my boy go ahead and play.”
“I left them a superstar in the G League and they don’t know what to do with that,” he continued. Of course, there is little evidence to suggest that this is true. LiAngelo Ball has averaged just 9.3 points per game for Greensboro, and while his 22-point outing against Birmingham Squadron is as high as that, his most recent game against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers saw him scoreless. While Ball’s G League career is still young, his failure to make a consistent impression there doesn’t exactly scream a future NBA star.
When is coming back
The Charlotte Hornets put four players into health and safety protocol on Saturday morning. LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Jalen McDaniels and Mason Plumley are under Covid-19 protocol and we are waiting to see if they tested positive. If so, all four would need to be quarantined for 10 days and they could miss more time. If any of the four tested negative or had close contact, they could have survived the extended absence.

As of now, the team is currently ranked eighth in the East with an overall record of 15–14. The team has currently won four of their last ten matches and will be desperate to get back on the right track. The good news for the Hornets is that it looks like they’re about to get a much-needed boost in their starting lineup. According to NBA Insider Mark Stein, the Charlotte Hornets have announced that the LaMello ball has been removed from the NBA’s health and safety protocols. In a similar move, the Hornets send LaMelo down to their G-League colleague, the Greensboro Swarm, for conditioning and rehab assignments.
