Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. (born January 7, 1997) is an American football quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisville, where he won the Heisman Trophy during his sophomore year, and was selected by the Ravens as the final first round pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson was born to Felicia Jones and Lamar Jackson Sr. on January 7, 1997. He grew up in the center of an economically distressed section of Pompano Beach, Florida. Jackson’s father died from a heart attack on the same day his grandmother died in 2005, when Jackson was 8 years old. His siblings and he were raised by their mother.

Is playing today
Jackson had missed Wednesday and Thursday practices as a result of an illness. He returned to practice on Friday and his full participation designation seemed to indicate that he was healthy and ready to play. “I usually don’t get sick, for real,” Jackson said after Friday’s practice, per ESPN.

Lamar Jackson completed 12-of-17 passes for 107 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Ravens’ Week 13 win over the Cowboys.
Jackson also added an impressive 94 rushing yards and a score on 13 carries. After months of inconsistent play and a week on the COVID-19 list, Jackson looked more confident despite missing Mark Andrews, Willie Snead, starting offensive linemen, and others. Jackson’s highlight play was a QB keeper that went for a 37-yard rushing touchdown. His two passing touchdowns both came from 20-plus yards out thanks to non-stop blown assignments by the Cowboys defense. Jackson could’ve had a bigger day as a passer if he was simply more accurate. His mechanics seem to be an issue. With that said, Jackson has a cupcake schedule ahead of the fantasy playoffs and tonight’s game was a positive overall. Jackson will be a QB1 against the Browns.
Will Play
After suffering an ankle injury in Week 14, Jackson is “day-to-day,” according to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. He didn’t practice Wednesday, but Baltimore is still holding out hope he’ll heal enough before Sunday to play.
But for now, the team is preparing Tyler Huntley as if he’ll start, with Johnson presumably the backup. Huntley has completed 58 of 85 passes for 528 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in four appearances in 2021. He played well enough in his lone start to beat the Bears back in Week 11.
