Lakers Rumors: Two players who can leave the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers made their first big roster move of the season by releasing Quinn Cook on February 27 before their contract was fully guaranteed. The Lakers now have an open roster spot as well as more space under the hard cap if Cook’s contract is fully guaranteed.
Rumors
The Lakers will eventually use the roster spot that is possible for the player who purchased. It has been reported that the Lakers are unlikely to reunite with DeMarcus Cousins, so at this point, we are simply waiting for the purchase market to develop further to see who will actually be available.
What we do know is that Quinn Cook will likely not be alone. Whether it is through trade or to make the cut, the Lakers will likely have ways with at least one more member of the roster to make room for improvement.
The Lakers have several players at the end of the rotation who are not playing who can be easily let go. Also, recent history suggests that they will move in this direction. Troy Daniels and the Cousins were the two players from last season who didn’t make it until the end of the season.
Trade
Realistically, there are two players that the Los Angeles Lakers could potentially pursue after cutting Quinn Cook. One of these players could have been released and the other is a potential trade chip, although I would not dismiss a trade.
