As Kyle Juszczyk boarded the team bus following the San Francisco 49ers’ season-ending loss at State Farm Stadium, he had a lingering sense of uncertainty about his future. That feeling proved to be justified.

On Monday night, the 49ers informed the veteran fullback of his release, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Despite the unexpected move, the 33-year-old remains determined to continue his career. Speaking after the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Juszczyk made it clear that he intends to play in 2025, regardless of where he lands.

“I know I’m not done,” Juszczyk said on Jan. 5. “I’m definitely not done playing. I’ve seen zero regression. Just turn on the last two games—please show me where I’ve lost a step. I have no plans of stopping.”
