Kyle Jared “Flip” Filipowski (born November 7, 2003) is an American basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. Filipowski was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2022 class.
Girlfriend
The Twitter world was buzzing over a clip from “The Lowe Post” with ESPN’s Zach Lowe and Jonathan Givony that revealed concerns about Kyle Filipowski’s personal life.
The clip revealed that Filipowski’s underwhelming interview performance and pro-day workout caused hesitation among some teams. Additionally, Givony indicated concerns about Filipowski’s girlfriend, Caitlin Hutchinson.
Upon Lowe’s request for more information, Givony revealed that Hutchinson, who was a few years older than Filipowski, had allegedly molested and seduced her.
Draft projection
The NBA Draft has proven unpredictable, with some top prospects falling out of the first round. Of the 24 players invited to the Green Room, two will have to wait until the second round to find out where they will play in the NBA. After being projected in the first round in the draft, Duke center Kyle Filipowski and Kansas guard Johnny Furphy had to opt out of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn due to uncertainty about their landing spot.
Marquette guard Tyler Kolek is another player who fell out of the first round. Many thought he was a lock for the Phoenix Suns, but after the trade to Denver, things changed and he could be the first player off the board in the second round.
All eyes will be on Bronny James and where he ends up. The Lakers are favored to take him at No. 55 or possibly the Suns now at No. 57 after the Nuggets trade Wednesday night.

Filipowski’s parents are Dave and Rebecca Filipowski. Both of his parents enjoyed basketball careers in college. Filipowski’s father, Dave, played collegiately at Slippery Rock University from 1979 to 1981. His mother, Rebecca, played at Long Beach State from 1982 to 1984.
