What happened to:
Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman has “stepped aside” from his role, the team announced Tuesday. Senior vice president of hockey operations Al MacIsaac is out, too, the team announced.
The announcement comes as the Blackhawks release the results of an independent investigation they commissioned into sexual assault allegations against former video coach Brad Aldrich.
Story:
Two lawsuits were filed against the organization alleging that Aldrich sexually assaulted a former Blackhawks player and a high school player in 2010.
On Wednesday, Kyle Beach revealed he is John Doe 1, the former Blackhawks player in one of the lawsuits.
On Thursday, Florida Panthers coach Joel Quenneville, who was the Blackhawks’ coach in 2010, resigned.
Joel Quenneville:
A former Blackhawks player told The Athletic in June that “every guy on the team knew” about the alleged abuse.
The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup over the Philadelphia Flyers in six games in 2010, with Aldrich joining the team on the ice to celebrate after the win. He left Chicago after and joined the coaching staff of a boys high school team in Houghton, Mich.

Beach is a power forward who plays a tough, physical game accompanied by offensive skill. After his first season in the Western Hockey League (WHL), he was named the league’s Rookie of the Year. His aggressive play led to multiple concussions and a sports hernia while playing for the Everett Silvertips.
After being named the 2006–07 WHL Rookie of the Year, Beach was projected to be a top five pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. However, his on-ice reputation and discipline issues made teams hesitant to draft him. Later in his WHL career, Beach bounced around, spending time with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Spokane Chiefs.[3]
