Jail

The 27-year-old Premier League star has been condemned after a video surfaced of him dropping, kicking and slapping a cat at his Essex home.
Now, media outlets have reported that a legal complaint has been filed against the footballer in Paris.
More than 110,000 people signed an online petition calling for Zuma to be prosecuted.
A petition on Change.org read: “In the UK we have laws against animal abuse, laws that should apply to everyone, rich or poor, famous or not.
“We want the Metropolitan Police and the RSPCA to immediately investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of this heinous act.” added this.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has condemned the “very disturbing” video after it surfaced online and will lead the investigation and cooperate with Essex Police.
“We cannot comment further at this time, but we are grateful to all who have brought this to our attention,” a statement from the charity said.
Prison
Disgraced footballer Kurt Zouma faces up to four years in prison after being found guilty under strict new animal protection laws in his native France for kicking and slapping his cat in the UK.
A legal complaint has been filed against the 27-year-old West Ham and France player in Paris, where a video shows him attacking his pet at his Essex home.
It contacted prosecutors working for the 30 Million Friends Foundation (La Fondation 30 Million d’Amis), the largest animal rights group in France.
A spokesman for the foundation said: ‘We condemn this heinous act, have asked for the player to be suspended from the France team, and have filed a legal complaint against him.’
According to Article 113-6 of the French Penal Code, a French citizen can be prosecuted for criminal acts committed abroad.
Strict new animal protection laws were introduced in France in 2021, meaning ‘mistreatment of animals’ can now result in up to four years in prison and a fine of up to £50,000.

The woman, who was not named, told Yoann Zouma that she “doesn’t want to cooperate” with someone who found her brother’s actions funny.
The West Ham United defender pleaded guilty to two counts under the Animal Welfare Act when he appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court in east London on Tuesday morning.
Zouma, 27, was forced to apologize after his 24-year-old younger brother, Yoann, filmed and shared the harsh footage, who also admitted to a crime during the trial.
Prosecutors also told the court that the footage sparked a flood of counterfeit attacks, which were filmed and shared online, sparking outrage among campaigners.
