If the goal of crossover boxing is to provide entertainment, then KSI and Tommy Fury failed in their Misfits Boxing main event on Saturday in Manchester, England. After six vicious rounds in which almost the same number of punches were thrown, Fury won a controversial majority decision victory to remain undefeated in the boxing ring.
Fury’s decision victory seemed unlikely to many observers as he was docked a point due to a blow to the back of the head in the second round. In a six-round fight, a loss by one point is a major blow to a fighter’s chances, but two of the three judges saw Fury doing enough to earn the victory despite the setback.

Punches landed
In the first three rounds of the fight, KSI landed ten more power punches than Tommy Fury (23-13). At the end of the fight, KSI still held a 35–27 advantage in power punches landed.

It earned a reported 1.3 million pay-per-view buys worldwide, making it the biggest non-professional amateur boxing match of all time. DAZN expects Fury vs. KSI to surpass 1 million PPV buys.
KSI says, “With me, Logan Paul and other influential people coming in, boxing is getting a new lease of life.”
“It’s bringing a different audience to boxing.”
Despite great boxing events like Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford in 2023, Fury will arguably have one of the two biggest fights of the year after fighting Paul in his last outing.
“I think that fight [with Paul] was bigger than 95% of world title fights,” he said.
