United will likely be one of the first clubs to express a key interest in the midfielder, as reports understand current interim manager Ralf Rangnick recommended Laimer to the United board.
However further sources from Kicker, via Sport Witness, understand Liverpool have also joined the race for the Austrian international’s midfielder.

With Manchester United making the midfield a priority in this up and coming transfer window, it’s easy to see why RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer is reportedly attracting their attention.
He’s been one of Bundesliga’s star players in recent months and a driving force behind Leipzig’s surge up the table.

On 30 June 2017, Laimer joined RB Leipzig on a four-year deal. Laimer’s deal was due to run out in 2021, but he has now signed a contract extension until 2023.
Laimer can operate as a number six and eight in different midfield setups. The Austrian midfielder has a good passing range along with having a great work rate. He can add more quality to the midfield department at Die Roten.
