Why isnt playing tonight
Even under the new COVID protocol, Cousin’s vaccination status means he cannot play during Sunday Night Football. They have been officially rejected. The news is a real blow to the Vikings, who are currently only one game behind a playoff spot in the NFL standings and need to win tonight to keep those hopes alive.
Playoff record
Cousins was selected by the Washington Redskins as a seventh choice in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, making him the 102nd draft pick overall. The pick surprised many analysts, as the Redskins drafted 2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with the second overall pick to be their franchise quarterback. The Redskins earned the Griffin III pick by giving the St. Louis Rams four high-value draft picks over three years. Cousins was seen as an insurance policy in the event Griffin was injured, with Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan saying, “You’re a play or two away from being a starter… Let’s see. Draft, I’m going to take it.” The Washington Redskins, who drafted Griffin and Cousins in the same draft, echoed the team’s strategy in the 1994 NFL Draft, when the team defeated Heath Schuler third overall. Drafted with Pick and later drafted Gus. Frerotte in the seventh round.
