Kaprizov took a dangerous hit from Bruins center Trent Frederick during the second period at TD Garden and left the game in favor of his right hand. After the game, Wilde coach Dean Evans said “it doesn’t look good” to his points leader, but on Friday he only knew Kaprizov would miss Saturday’s game against the Washington Capitals at the Xcel Energy Center.

Does this mean that Ivson felt better about Kaprizov’s injury a day later?

“No,” he said, “just that he’s out for tomorrow and then we hope for the best, I guess.”

Kaprizov, who leads Wilde on 40 points and is second with 14 goals, was essentially off his feet—tripped by defenseman Matt Grzelic—when Frederick hit him head-on into the boards in the Wilde zone. Pushed first. Frederick overtook a free puck to hit and was penalized for boarding, one of five penalties assessed on Thursday.

Evson described Kaprizov’s injury as “upper body” and said the winger was being assessed by medical staff on Friday. The Wilde coach was still furious after a short morning practice at the TRIA rink in downtown St. Paul.

“He’s looking at the docs, going to be here today,” Wilde coach Dean Evans said on Friday. “just that [he] is definitely out tomorrow and we hope for the best position or the best positivity that we play tomorrow and then we have some time to fix not only him but other people as well.” Get.”
