Kimi-Matias (born 17 October 1979), nicknamed “The Iceman”, is a Finnish racing driver currently driving in Formula One for Alfa Romeo Racing, Who is running under the Finnish flag. Rikkönen won his latest World Drivers’ Championship, the 2007 Formula One World Championship driving for Scuderia Ferrari. In addition to this title, he finished second overall in 2003 and 2005, and third in 2008, 2012 and 2018. With 103 podium finishes, he is one of only five drivers to have captured more than 100 podiums. Rikkönen has won 21 Grand Prix, making him the most successful Finnish driver in terms of Formula One race victories, and the only driver to win in the V10, V8 and V6 turbo hybrid engine era.

First f1 race
Kimi Rikkönen began karting in 1987 and after several successes in the Finnish series went on to compete internationally.
His first foray into car racing was temporary: after a few starts in the 1999 British Formula Renault series he decided that his Miegel chassis was too uncompetitive and returned to karting. He returned to the UK to compete at the Formula Ford Festival and then won the Formula Renault Winter Series.
This set him up for a return to Formula Renault with top team Manor. “Kimi stayed in karts for a long time,” team boss John Booth recalled, “primarily because he couldn’t raise the money to get out of it until Robertson joined.” Dave and Steve Robertson, father and son, managed Raikkonen’s career.
Raikkonen started the season in third place and then went on to win the first two races. They added six more championships to take the title, and won the championship by two races before the end of the season.

Rikkönen entered Formula One in 2001 as a regular driver for Sauber-Petronas, having previously participated in only 23 car races. He joined McLaren-Mercedes in 2002, and went on to become a title contender by finishing runner-up in the championship to Michael Schumacher in 2003 and Fernando Alonso in 2005.
