While everyone is focused on free agency and who the Dodgers might go after, good things have been happening outside of baseball. Kike Hernandez and his wife Mariana announced today via social media that they welcomed their first daughter into the world.

Penélope Isabel Hernandez was born at 4:28 p.m on January 15th. The Dodgers/free agent super-utility posted that this was the best day of his life, way ahead of getting drafted to be a Major League Baseball player.

Hernández was called up to the majors for the first time on July 1, 2014.[10] He made his major league debut the same day, entering a game against the Seattle Mariners as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning and collecting two hits, the first of which was a ground-rule double in his first at-bat, off Dominic Leone of the Mariners.

Hernández hit his first home run the following day, off Chris Young of the Mariners. In 24 games, he hit .284/.348/.420 for the Astros.

Postseason:

Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals because of a calf injury.

Chubb suffered the injury late in last week’s 47-42 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and sat out the entire week of practice.

Reaction:

At 72 years old, Baker has seen pretty much everything the game of baseball has to offer. He didn’t even seem upset by the matter, but more so just impressed.

Hernandez gave Boston the lead in what’s sure to be a long, back-and-forth series. You have to give credit where it’s due — Baker didn’t show much emotion in the moment, instead staying calm and collected while on live television.
