Leaves Game:

Porter and Wood traveled with the Rockets to Philadelphia on Sunday, but Silas made the decision to sit out both players after separate episodes involving the two players.

Neither Porter nor Wood played in the second half of the Rockets’ loss to the Nuggets, which included Porter leaving the arena after a halftime locker room confrontation with assistant coach John Lucas, sources said.

Suspension:

Silas said that the suspensions are all about “accountability” and that both players accepted them without issue.

Porter has well-documented anger management issues — which the team believes he has made progress on — but those surfaced again Saturday and ultimately drove him to leave the arena instead of rejoining the team for the second half, sources said.

Porter will make $3.2 million in the 2022-23 season under the terms of the option year.

As for what happens after that, the 6-foot-4 guard will be eligible to sign a rookie-scale extension with Houston during the 2022 offseason.

Junior:

Kevin Porter Jr., in his first game back after serving a suspension for reportedly throwing something at an assistant coach before leaving the arena at halftime last week, drilled a buzzer-beater on Wednesday night to lift the Houston Rockets past the Washington Wizards.

Porter, with the game tied in the final seconds, hit a 3-pointer as time expired over Wizards guard Raul Neto to give the Rockets the 114-111 win at Capital One Arena today.
