It should come as no surprise, in these times, that Kevin Durant has a personal bodyguard. Nor is it surprising that the Nets hired a bodyguard, Antjuan Lambert, to give them more flexibility under league safety guidelines. According to his LinkedIn account, Lambert has been the Nets’ “Director of Security” since September 2019, shortly after the Nets signed Durant. When Durant played for Golden State, he previously had the same title with the Warriors.

But when Lambert ran onto the court in Game 3 and faced PJ Tucker during an altercation with KD, the league decided to take action. According to the NBA, Lambert will not be allowed to work any more games inside Milwaukee’s Fisher Forum and will not be allowed courtside when the series returns to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. In addition, USA Today reports that the league has “reprimanded” Lambert.

Video of the incident shows Lambert actually making physical contact with Tucker, hitting and pushing the veteran who has actually been friends with Durant. News reports have identified Lambert as a security guard in black.

Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Durant submerged the offensive on Monday, helping his team win over the Jazz with a 37-point effort. For the second straight outing, Durant was skillful enough, shooting 15-for-23 from the field, adding four made-up triples for good measure. Durant has already entered two triple-doubles this year as he came just one rebound and was two shy of a second, with fantasy managers taking advantage of the statistical advantages of not having Kyrie Irving in action. Jung’s question has been firmly dismissed since Durant’s return, as he averaged 30.8ppg on 55.1% shooting in his first nine games.

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant finished with 37 points on a 15-for-23 shooting during the decisive victory over the Jazz. Durant was locked in all night, and he added nine boards and eight assists, making him very short of a triple-double. The 33-year-old has been back in full force since a knee injury that kept him out for nearly two months. The Nets head to the Timberwolves v. Minnesota next Wednesday night, so Kyrie Irving should be on the court. Of course, Irving’s presence could somewhat negatively affect Durant’s scoring output. However, the former MVP should continue to be rostered by seasonal and DFS managers, mainly because that game must have had a lot of scoring from both clubs.

Draft

After the Portland Trail Blazers won the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft on lottery night, the two prospects under debate were Greg Oden and Kevin Durant. The debate was considered a “win-win” throughout the basketball world. Greg Oden was one of the most influential big-man prospects in college basketball a year ago. Odeon offered for a franchise to be a game-changing presence on both sides of the floor. On the other side of the table was Kevin Durant, well ahead of the University of Texas, who offered interesting offensive reversals with his shooting ability.

This is usually something that we as basketball fans go back and forth during the pre-draft process. We spend countless hours watching old game movies to find out what the team with the first overall pick should do on draft night. The Portland Trail Blazers would go on to invest their future in the big man, choosing Greg Oden as the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. At the time, it was widely believed that both Oden and Durant were “slam dunk” selections. Oden was considered a major big man, averaging 15.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game while playing with Mike Connelly Jr. at Ohio State. Choosing another, the then Seattle SuperSonics would “settle” for Kevin. Durant with his selection.
