The 2022 Kentucky Derby (officially, the 2022 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve)[1] will be the 148th race of the Kentucky Derby. It will take place on the first Saturday of May on May 7, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky. The race is open to 20 horses who qualified for the race for the Kentucky Derby by earning points on the 2022 Road. The Kentucky Derby is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds over a distance of 1 miles (2.0 km) and has been run at Churchill Downs Racetrack since its inception in 1875. The purse for 2022 will be US$3 million.

Horses names

The 2022 Kentucky Derby, the 148th edition, stays back where it takes place on the first Saturday of May for the second year in a row.
