The Steelers were getting a spark from Kenny Pickett in their Week 6 game against the Buccaneers, but they lost to a concussion first-round pick.
Piquet took a big hit from Buccaneers linebacker Devin White while throwing a pass in the middle of the third quarter of Pittsburgh’s Week 6 game. He was able to complete the pass but got injured in the play.
The rookie was able to leave the field under his own power. However, after a major collision, he went to the blue medical tent and later to the locker room.
The Steelers later announced that Piquet was out for the rest of the game due to injury. The good news, however, is that Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday that Pickett will be able to practice despite being in concussion protocol.

Piquet left the medical tent before heading to the Steelers’ locker room, with Pittsburgh leading Tampa Bay 13-12.
Trubisky, who began the season as the Steelers’ starting quarterback, was replaced by Piquet in the middle of the Week 4 game against the Jets. Pickett started his career last Sunday, throwing for 327 yards in a road loss to Buffalo of Pittsburgh.
Piquet threw his first career touchdown pass in the first quarter of Sunday’s game when he joined Nazi Harris on a six-yard pass. Piquet had actually beaten his counterpart Tom Brady before leaving the game with an injury.
