Kenny golladay: Week 5| Joe mixon or| Tee higgins or| Injury

Golladay said after the game that he overstretched his knee and, according to Jack Rosenblatt, could not play with pain.

The New York Giants would be without wide receiver Kenny Golladay when the receiver suffered a knee injury against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. New York is already starting without starting quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saxon Barkley, who also suffered injuries in the contest.

Goladay was not making much impact before being out of the game, recording no catches on three goals. It is not certain how serious his injury is, but it is enough to sideline him for the rest of the game.

With Goladay, the Giants are without their top three receivers. Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepherd were eliminated before kickoff. This means that rookie Kadarius Tony and fast bowler John Ross will have more chances. Tony is already showing his abilities against Dallas with six catches for 121 yards. If any of the players can make the move, it may mean that Golade has less of a role to play in the move. The big free agent signing in New York so far hasn’t worked.

Wide receivers often perform monsters in PPR leagues, and they can do so without many splash plays. Our Week 5 Fantasy WR PPR rankings are factoring in the performance of the first four games, with slightly more weight given to the most recent performances. Deciding who to start and who to sit at wide receiver can be a very different process in standard versus PPR, especially after a month of subpar outings from some stars and notable games from some potential breakouts.

We have to continue to evaluate Pittsburgh’s defense, but they still need to be a top unit in the NFL. Unfortunately, the guilt has put them in a bad position. That said, Cortland Sutton and Tim Patrick (@Steelers), who have been up and down this year, could be looking at quieter weeks. It remains to be seen who will start in QB for Denver, but Teddy Bridgewater (Concussion) is the better of the two in terms of efficiency. Brandin Cook (vs. Patriots) seemed matchup-proof before his poor performance against the Bills, and we could see a lot going against the Pats. However, bad weather in Buffalo last week may have been at least part of what caused Cook to stay down.

Injury

Kenny Golladay suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Giants’ Week 5 game against the Cowboys and was ruled out of the rest of the game. It is unclear when Goladay was injured, but it is another injury for the Giants’ No. 1 receiver, who has already dealt with hamstring, hip and groin ailments earlier this year.

The Giants came into the game without Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, both dealing with hamstring strains. Golladay’s defeat left the Giants with rookie Kadarius Tony, Colin Johnson, Joh Ross III, and taunts Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph.
