New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday on charges of illegal sports betting while playing at LSU.
Louisiana State Police said the charges against Boutte, 21, include a felony count of computer fraud and a misdemeanor count of prohibited gambling for persons under the age of 21. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, police said.
Investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division found that Boutte bet on sports from April 6, 2022, to May 7, 2023, when he was 20 years old. Boutte allegedly used an alias to circumvent the age requirement to place sports bets in Louisiana. ,
According to police, more than 8,900 bets are believed to have been placed on an alias account used by Boutte, including at least 17 bets on NCAA football games – including at least six bets involving LSU.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail and Boutte was released after posting $600,000 bond, according to court documents. According to police, Bout, who was 20 at the time, participated in sports gambling from April 6, 2022, to May 7, 2023.
