Manchester City have signed Leeds midfielder Calvin Phillips in a £45million deal, the Premier League champions confirmed on Monday.
Phillips signed a six-year contract on behalf of Pep Guardiola. The midfielder, who came through the youth ranks at Leeds, moved to the Etihad Stadium after making 235 appearances for his hometown club over the past eight seasons. The 26-year-old was instrumental in Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League and has since gone on to establish himself as an England international, taking part in last year’s European Championship final.
Phillips are said to be extremely excited about the prospect of joining the Premier League champions and look forward to securing more silverware with the club.
