Kai Jones’ situation in Charlotte gets even more awkward after he publicly demands a trade on Twitter. Greenie10/09/2023 1:10 PM. 34. Jacob Kupferman.

A few days after taking to Instagram and criticizing some of his peers, Jones decided to log onto Twitter/X and take things to the next level. Not only is Jones saying that he is better than some of his peers, but he has also decided to go after some of the legends of the game.

Jones responded to someone in regards to Hornets teammates LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.

While Jones is correct, his field goal percentage (56.7) is higher than Ball (42.6%) and Miller (43%) at Alabama, and guarding him will be a challenge for both, he is still better than Ball and possibly Miller. Much less talented. However, when it comes to overall talent, championing field goal percentage for someone who took 74.6% of his field goal attempts within 10 feet is completely missing the mark.

Jones couldn’t stop gushing to his teammates that he would beat LeBron James in a 1v1.

What happened to

The Charlotte Hornets’ Kai Jones will be away from the team indefinitely with no timetable for his return. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the third-year center will miss training camp due to personal reasons. A statement released by the Hornets said they would not be providing additional comment on the matter at this time.

It happened after the team’s annual media luncheon where coach Steve Clifford refused to answer a question regarding Jones’ strange social media posts. The post included an Instagram video that went viral where Jones was sweating profusely and his speech was slurred. Here is a repost of the video.

The Hornets big man also said in another post that he was better than LeBron and openly criticized teammates Nick Richards and Mark Williams in another social media post.

Jones was drafted by the Knicks with the 19th overall pick in 2021. The Knicks then traded him to the Hornets for a future first-round pick. He appeared in 21 games for the Hornets in his rookie season.

Net Worth

There is no accurate report stating Jones’ actual net worth. However, the 21-year-old is estimated to have a net worth of between $1 to $5 million.

The Hornets acquired Jones via a draft-day trade with the New York Knicks in 2021, selecting the Texas big man with the 19th overall selection of the NBA Draft. Since then he has struggled to find consistent playing time, even as the Hornets finished with a poor 27–55 record last season.
