Undrafted

Once considered a first-round lockout, former Clemson football standout Justin Ross is set to go without a draft.

Ross played a big part in the Tigers’ most recent national championship win in 2018. Had he been draft-qualified in 2020, no doubt, he would have been in the first round. However, time is running out for Ross to hear his name being called in the 2022 NFL Draft. An unbelievable playmate from an unbelievable schedule, but people are wondering why Ross has fallen so far this NFL Draft.

The biggest reason Ross declined the draft procedure was the fact that he had surgery on his spine two years ago. His spinal condition was considered the end of a career, but Ross returned to the college gridiron in 2021, after missing all of the 2020 campaign.

While he had to know it was possible, it absolutely stinks for a player since Ross was just coming out of high school. Of all of Clemson’s former star wide receivers, Ross Howard was well on his way to being the most talented to touch the rock. Although his football career is not completely over, as he can sign with anyone without a draft free agent, the therapy is not good.

Ross said his meeting with the Eagles was “smooth.” Ross is another tall receiver (6-feet, 4-inches) who said he models his game after Chargers’ Keenan Allen. The reason Ross remained unsigned is not so much because he is recovering from foot surgery. It is that Ross was born with Klippel-Feil syndrome, a congenital fusion of his spine. Despite the medical issues with Ross, it will still be good to see how he fits in with a team.

Glass, who is 6-feet, 5-inches tall, and 215 pounds, has a strong arm and is a very athletic quarterback. Glass needs to do some work on his footwork as it will help him position the ball more accurately for his receiver. If he heeds this and becomes available late in the draft or as an undrafted free agent, he seems a good fit to become the third quarterback for the Eagles and head coach Nick Siriani and quarterback coach Brian Johnson to his Let’s work together.

Justin Ross was once considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in college. Clemson’s head coach Dabo Swain even said that he is a “first-round talent”. Unfortunately, NFL teams do not agree.

Through 165 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, Ross remains available to pick. This is amazing result. The former Clemson star was once viewed as a first-round talent.

Ross’s NFL Draft slide stemmed from a serious medical condition that was detected back in 2020. Doctors found that Ross was born with a congenital fusion in his spine, known as Klippel-Feil syndrome. The condition calls for the avoidance of physical activities – such as football – that can lead to neck injuries.
