The Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the seventh round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draught, and he made his major league debut in 2009. Turner was an All-Star with the Dodgers in 2017 and won the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award.
Why is out
Due to a stinger on the right side of his neck, Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was not in the starting lineup for Los Angeles’ 5-4 loss to the Braves in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday.
Turner felt stiffness in his neck during batting practise on Saturday, according to manager Dave Roberts, but he was still able to start Game 1. The Dodgers, however, decided to sit Turner after he arrived on Sunday with similar discomfort. At third base, Chris Taylor got the start.
