Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings captivated the NFL in his first two seasons, setting the NFL record for most receiving yards in a player’s first two seasons.
Kirk Cousins, who was extended by the Vikings for another year on Sunday, threw him the ball 97% of the time.
Unfortunately, Minnesota did not make the playoffs during Jefferson’s first two seasons, despite his outstanding individual performance.
The Vikings defence died unceremoniously the moment Jefferson joined the team, in an unexpected turn of events.
Under head coach Mike Zimmer, Minnesota ranked second in the NFL in points allowed from 2014 to 2019.
In 2020-2021, the team was ranked 27th in the league, or sixth-worst.

After appearing in two games and not catching a pass his freshman year at LSU, Jefferson was the Tigers’ leading receiver in 2018 with 54 catches for 875 yards and six touchdowns.
As a junior in 2019, Jefferson led the country with 111 receptions. His 18 receiving touchdowns were second in the country, trailing only teammate Ja’Marr Chase, and his 1,540 receiving yards were third. He had a historic Peach Bowl performance, catching 14 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns against the Oklahoma Sooners.
All four touchdowns came in the first half, setting a College Football Playoff game record and tying the record for any bowl game. He had nine receptions for 106 yards in the National Championship against Clemson.

White has proven to be a top-five pick in two seasons with the Buccaneers, and he was a pillar for that Tampa Bay defence, recording 140 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, and nine sacks in a Super Bowl season.
Jefferson set NFL rookie records in his first season en route to a breakout season in which he rushed for 1,400 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
Both players have insane skill sets, but one of their most potent weapons is their positional speed.
The two recently took part in a 40-yard dash with Kansas City Chiefs receiver Mecole Hardman and Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs, and the results were incredible.
