Justin Skyler Fields is an American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL), he was born on 5 March 1999. Following a stint with Georgia, he played college football at Ohio State where he was twice recognized as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the MVP of 2019 Big Ten Football Championship Game. Fields attended Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. In two years as the starting quarterback for Harrison, he totaled 4,187 passing yards, 41 passing touchdowns, 2,096 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns. In the summer before his senior year in 2017, he attended the Elite 11 quarterback competition and was named MVP of the event.

Justin Fields basically played like Andy Dalton. He got the ball out fast (2.63 seconds average time to throw) and threw it short a bunch (5.6 air yards/attempt). Dalton is at 2.47 seconds and 4.2 yards so far this year, so shorter and faster, but both in same ballpark.

Week 4
The Bears have made a decision on its starting quarterback for Week 4. Rookie Justin Fields will get the start on Sunday against the Lions in place of Andy Dalton, who was downgraded from questionable to doubtful with a knee injury. The news comes a day after coach Matt Nagy declared it would be a “game-time decision” in regards to who will be QB1. Consider Saturday’s announcement the end of an agonizing wait for Bears fans across the country.
Fields spent the week nursing a right thumb injury he sustained versus the Browns in Week 3 but managed to practice in full. His progress, combined with Dalton being limited throughout the week, likely led to the decision to move forward with the rookie. Third-stringer Nick Foles will again serve as Fields’ backup.

Justin Fields is set to make his first start for the Chicago Bears. The team will go with the prized rookie quarterback when the Bears visit the Cleveland Browns this week with veteran Andy Dalton sidelined because of a left knee injury, coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday. “Justin’s gonna be our starter,” he said.
Nagy said Dalton remains the team’s No 1 quarterback for now and the plan is for him to be the starter when he is healthy. Nagy said the three-time Pro Bowler is week to week, though the Bears don’t think he will be placed on injured reserve. Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles will be the backup quarterback.
