Adding to an already loaded pass-receiving team, the Eagles have announced the signing of veteran wide receiver Julio Jones, and the team expects Jones, who will be a great running back to go along with his Hall of Fame talent. Known for his work ethic, will move forward. Act sooner rather than later.

Jones is the second veteran player recently added — cornerback Bradley Roby was signed to the practice squad two weeks ago and then played 25 quality snaps in a win over the Rams in Los Angeles just days later — and he joins a wide receiver corps. Fits in: Of course, this includes A.J. Features of. Brown, Devonta Smith, and Olamide Zacchaeus.

Entering his 13th NFL season after being a first-round draft pick out of Alabama by the Falcons in 2011, Jones has 903 receptions for 13,629 yards and 81 touchdowns. He played the first 10 years of his career in Atlanta and then spent 2021 in Tennessee and last year caught 24 passes for 299 yards and two scores in 10 games with Tampa Bay.

Eagles contract

The Philadelphia Eagles added depth at wide receiver on Tuesday by signing veteran Julio Jones.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that it was a one-year deal.

The 34-year-old Jones last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2022 season, recording 24 catches for 299 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games (five starts).

The seven-time Pro Bowler, two-time First-Team All-Pro and future Hall of Famer was one of the top wideouts in football during his peak, though injuries limited him to 29 total games between the 2020–22 seasons. Have given.

So Jones is unlikely to be a huge upgrade for the Eagles.

A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are the undisputed top duo at receiver in Philly, while tight end Dallas Goedert and running back D’Andre Swift have also played key roles in the passing game.
