Prada:

The slopes are opening up and just in time for the release of Prada’s new Linea Rossa Fall/Winter 2021 ski campaign. To show off its latest collection, the luxury fashion house tapped Olympic freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy and X Games snowboarding champion Julia Marino to race each other down the mountain in head-to-toe Prada.

Despite working with fierce competitors, Prada’s goal wasn’t to pit Kenworthy and Marino against each other. Rather, the video was inspired by the etymology of competition, which comes from the root word “competere,” meaning “to strive for.” There’s no rivalry here, merely a brand pushing the best in the game to be even better.

Slopestyle:

Of course, you can’t improve without the proper attire. And, as you can see, Prada designed these products to withstand the toughest winter conditions no matter where you are or how fast you’re going.

So, be like Kenworthy and Marino and get ready to challenge yourself this season to do what you’ve never done before. Zipping by in style with the brand’s signature high end looks is simply an added bonus.

Snowboarder Julia Marino (24) received silver on the Olympic slopestyle competitors, displaying, amongst different issues, .a 1080 (triple rotation) on the final kicker. Solely New Zealander Zoi Sadowski (20) was even higher. Annika Morgan (19) was eighth as the most effective German.

However what shocked many about Marino: She was driving a snowboard from the Italian luxurious model Prada. They really solely make purses. And the cool feminine snowboarders are likely to set totally different accents on the subject of type.

After falling on her first run during the final, Marino put down a clean second run capped off by a frontside double cork 1080 on the final jump to finish in second. Zoi Sadowski Synnott of New Zealand won the gold and Tess Coady of Australia took the bronze.

“It’s a run I’ve been wanting to put down for a long time,” Marino told NBC afterwards. “This season, I didn’t necessarily get to put that one down. To do it here just means a whole lot different than anything else and I’m just so over the moon to have landed that top to bottom.”

Skier:

Team USA’s first medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics came from women’s snowboard slopestyle. Although many expected two-time defending gold medalist Jamie Anderson to medal again, teammate Julia Marino put together a run of a lifetime to earn silver.

It’s a Cinderella story for Marino. She went from 28th place after falling multiple times during her first qualifying run yesterday to winning an Olympic silver medal in the final.
