Siri signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent on September 21, 2012. He made his professional debut the following year with the Dominican Summer League Reds. He spent the 2014 season with the Arizona League Reds, scoring .248/.310/.376 in 46 games. He played 46 games the following year with the AZL Reds and rookie-level Billings Mustangs, falling .244/.261/.438 with 3 home runs and 19 RBI. Siri split the 2016 season between the Billings and the single-A Dayton Dragons, scoring .275/.301/.463 with 10 home runs and a cumulative hit with 38 RBIs in 86 games. Siri won the 2017 season. During the season, he broke the Midwest League record for consecutive games with one hit. This record was previously held by Tony Toup in 1977 with 35. He batted .293 with Dayton, leading the league in runs (92) and stolen bases (46). The Reds added him to their 40-man roster after the season on November 20, 2017.
In 2018, Siri split the season between the High-A Daytona Tortugas and Double-A Pensacola Blue Vaughans, with 13 home runs at .239/.294/.449 and 43 RBIs in 96 games between the two teams. He split 2019 between the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and the Triple-A Louisville Bats, hitting a .237/.300/.357 slash line with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs in 131 total contests. On January 27, 2020, Siri was nominated for assignment by the Reds.

The Houston Astros today signed the contract of Sugar Land Skeeters outfielder Jose Siri.
The 26-year-old, who has spent all nine consecutive seasons at the minor league level, is set to make his first stint on an active major league roster. Siri joins the Astros as they begin a three-game road series against the San Diego Padres.
Siri currently leads Triple A West in extra-base hits (49) and ranks first in total bases (200), runs (70), second in RBI (72) and stolen bases ( 24), is ranked third in hits (115) and doubles (29) and ninth in batting average of .318. He has recorded one hit in 19 of his last 21 matches, with three home runs and .364 hits with 22 RBIs on that stretch.
On Friday, he was named Triple A West August Player of the Month. He is one of only two players in Triple A with at least 15 home runs and 20 stolen bases.
The Astros signed Siri to a minor league contract in December of this past off-season. He was originally signed by the Cincinnati Reds as a non-draft free agent from Sabana Grande de Boya, Dominican Republic in 2012 and reached Triple A level in the Red system from 2013–19.
