How is doing today:

Beginning on the back nine, McIlroy opened with back-to-back pars before a brilliant approach into the par-four 12th left him inches from the flag and marked the start of a run of four consecutive birdies.

McIlroy got up and down from a greenside bunker to take advantage of the par-five 13th and rolled in from 25 feet at the next, with a 10-foot birdie at the 15th lifting him into the solo lead and helping him reach the turn in 31.

McIlroy went on to win his first major title by eight shots at Congressional, and said on Thursday:

“It is a great start but I’m not getting ahead of myself. I did pretty much everything you need to do out there and I’m going to have to keep doing the same the next three days.”

McIlroy held a one-shot lead over Will Zalatoris and Tom Hoge, while playing partners Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth were facing battles to make the cut after rounds of 74 and 72 respectively.

The 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open is an enthralling event and ended in yet another mind-blowing playoff. Patrick Cantlay and Scottie Scheffler battled it out in an epic two men playoff for the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Scottie emerged as the winner and as a result, won his first PGA Tour title. What an event to get your first win.

Spieth took home a prize money share worth $18,368, along with the 2022 American Express winner, Hudson Swafford who won the same amount. Well certainly, Jordan would have looked to finish strong on the leader board.
