Jordan Anthony Poole (born June 19, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. He was a member of the 2016 First Team All-Wisconsin selection as a junior and the 2017 Dick’s National High School Championship winner as a senior. Poole played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. At Michigan, he was a member of the 2017–18 team that won the 2018 Big Ten tournament and advanced to that season’s national championship game. He is best known for making a game-winning buzzer beater three-point shot in the second round of the 2018 tournament to help Michigan advance to the Sweet Sixteen round.

Free agency
If the Warriors and Poole can’t come to an agreement, they could delay the decision and let things play out during the 2022-23 season. In that case, Poole would be eligible for restricted free agency in the summer of 2023.
As far as the maximum the deal can offer the Golden State pool, nothing will change. That number remains the same. But one more season of data will benefit both sides. The Poole may not have been as fitted with the Warriors as long as the fourth or fifth wheel. Maybe Golden State will eventually reach its limit tax-wise and decide they have to let Poole go. Neither seems very likely, yet both are possible.
We’re going to cover it here, because it’s as good a place as any: Poole isn’t a candidate to sign a qualifying offer and hit unrestricted free agency in 2024. The pool would likely meet the starter criterion (through the 2,000 minutes played criterion versus the 41 game start criterion), which would rival his Qo. Instead of $5.8 million, Poole could sign a QO for $8.5 million. But this is not enough for a player of his caliber.
