An initial report of the controversy stated that Greene “forcefully hit” Poole during a heated argument. On Friday morning, video of the incident was leaked by TMZ, showing Greene throwing a full punch, which appeared to strike Poole in the face and drop him to the floor. Green approached the pool from the edge of the practice court, hitting it to his chest, and Pole responded by pushing Green just before Green threw the punch.

According to ESPN, Warriors is exploring “every legal action” to find out how the video leaked.

Poole did not get a major injury
Poole reportedly took part in shooting drills after Wednesday’s incident, and on Thursday he rehearsed thoroughly. He didn’t seem to have been seriously injured by the punch, and probably won’t miss any time.

Green apologizes
Myers said Green apologized to the team on Thursday for his behavior.

“This is the NBA. This is the professional sport. These things happen. Nobody likes it. We don’t condone it, but it happened,” Myers said. “Draymond apologized to the team this morning. Jordan was in the room. I was in the room. The team, the coach, the players and we heard it.”

Discipline will be handled internally
Both Myers and Kerr said any disciplinary action against Green would be handled internally, and Kerr said Green was not at practice on Thursday and would not attend practice on Friday. Kerr expects Green to return to practice on Saturday.

“As far as any suspensions, punishments, fines, we’re going to handle it internally,” Myers said. “It’s going to be an internal process.”

“As a coach, whenever something happens, we try to handle things internally,” Kerr said. “[Green] didn’t practice today, won’t be here tomorrow. I hope he comes back on Saturday and gets back to that.”

Drummond Greene punched Jordan Poole in the face during Golden State Warriors practice on Wednesday. While the Warriors considered an internal sentence for Greene, video of the punch was released by TMZ on Friday.

In the video, Green walks from corner to baseline and gets into Poole’s face. Poole then gives Green a two-handed push. After a split second, Green whispers at Poole and delivers a right hook to his face. Green then grabs Poole on the way and waits for the rest of the team to surround them. Watch the full video here.

Shams Charania of The Athletic initially reported that “internal discipline is imminent,” but the Warriors said he did not expect him to miss any games. Green is expected to be back with the team on Saturday.

Green has apologized to Poole, according to the team.

“This is the NBA, the professional game,” Myers said during a media briefing on Thursday. “These things happen. Nobody likes it. We don’t condemn it but it happened.”
