Highlights:
Adelaide and Sydney have come to an arrangement which will see Jordan Dawson officially become a Crows player on Wednesday afternoon.
Foxfooty.com.au can exclusively reveal the Swans accepted Adelaide’s offer late on Tuesday night.
The deal will see Sydney receive Melbourne’s future first round pick from Adelaide, with Dawson going to West Lakes in return.
Crows:
The Crows’ offer of a future first-round pick for Dawson, which is tied to Melbourne’s ladder position next year, was the club’s final offer and has been accepted ahead of deadline day on Wednesday.
Adelaide had put the offer to the Swans on Monday, with Sydney mulling over it for the best part of two days, having knocked back other options in the first week of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
Sturt:
It’s understood Dawson hasn’t decided on which club he wants to play for. He’ll meet with both teams next week once he emerges from quarantine.
Adelaide, which has already put an offer to Dawson, appears to be in a better position to secure the left-footer, as it can offer more money than Port Adelaide.
Contract:
A desire to move home was the primary reason why Dawson elected to request a trade, and his five-year deal worth $650,000 per year was not much more than Sydney’s final offer, which was also a five-season contract.

AFL:
Jordan Dawson is looking to build on a breakthrough 2019 campaign, which saw the South Australian play 20 senior games and impact all over the ground on his way to winning the Sydney Swans’ Most Improved award.
The 2015 draftee can play as a forward and midfielder but is at his most influential in defence. Dawson’s pinpoint disposal out of the backline, brilliant reading of the play, strong one-on-one defending and tireless work ethic make him a vital member of Sydney’s back six.
