Jail

UFC star Jon Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on Friday morning on charges of domestic violence and tampering with a vehicle, and is currently behind bars, TMZ Sports has learned.

Our law enforcement sources tell us that they received a call from Caesars Palace at around 5:45 a.m. The police responded to the hotel… where they contacted the UFC superstar.

Jones, 34, was eventually arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle, a felony.

Arrested

Las Vegas Metro PD officer Larry Hadfield told ESPN that Jones is being charged with domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle. According to online inmate records, he is currently held at the Clark County Detention Center. His total bail is $8,000, but Jones is on hold per record 12 hours. His first appearance is scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Las Vegas Justice Court.

Hadfield said Jones was arrested Friday at 5:45 a.m. at a resort near Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road.

“It’s hard to bring this guy to Las Vegas for whatever reason,” said UFC president Dana White. “This city is no good for Jon Jones, and here we are again.”

White said: “It’s not even shocking anymore. When we bring him here, it’s almost expected. We can’t bring him to Las Vegas for less than 12 hours and have him in the Hall of Fame. That’s a problem. This guy’s got a lot of monsters, man, too many monsters.”

Jones’ advisor Richard Schaefer told ESPN’s Mike Köppinger, “The facts are still evolving. We don’t really know the full story yet, so until I get a chance to talk to John and not until we Let’s see, I’m not going to comment until then.

Violence Charge

Even if the victim suffered no bodily injury and there was no intentional use of force or violence against them, an incident could still be considered battery domestic violence.
