John Gerald Gedhert (December 21, 1957 – February 25, 2021) was an American artistic gymnastics coach, head coach of the 2012 Gold Medal of America’s Women’s Olympic Team, and a regular coach of team member Jordan Wieber.
In 2010, was suspended by USA Gymnastics, which focused on his longtime colleague Larry Nassar after being implicated in the USA Gymnastics sexual abuse scandal. Gederut committed suicide in 2021, a day after being accused of physical, psychological and sexual abuse.

Gedert’s prolonged relationship with Lasser Nassar, who was sued for sexual harassment of at least 150 women and girls, caused legal troubles for Gederut. Gathert and Nassar’s close personal and professional relationships have led some to suspect that Gathert was aware of Nassar’s misbehavior but did nothing about it. Many former gymnasts and parents have said that a regular volunteer at Gedrat’s gym made it to their gym to allow for the nymphMany former gymnasts have described Gathert’s coaching style as intense, strict and abusive.
