Did retire
Despite not appearing at WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest show of the year, John Cena has confirmed that he is not retiring from wrestling, and doesn’t have plans any time soon.
In an interview with Ellen host Ellen DeGeneres, John Cena talked about his in-ring future. John Cena confirmed that he is not retiring from wrestling in WWE, calling WWE his “home” and expressing his desire to return to the company when his busy schedule allows.
Update
Former WWE Superstar John Cena has hinted that fans may see him return to the promotion that made him a star.
The 16-time WWE Champion last appeared for the company at SummerSlam in August 2021, where he lost to Roman Reigns and failed to capture the Universal Championship. After the match, Cena returned to Hollywood, and we haven’t seen him on Raw or SmackDown since.
John Cena recently spoke to Adam Glynn of Adams Apple on a wide variety of topics. When asked when he would return to WWE, Cena replied in surprise that he would be back soon:
“Oh, soon,” said John Cena. “I know that in WWE, I turn 20 very soon, so it’s a big deal. From a beautiful class of Batista, Randy Orton, Brock, we all turn 20 this year, so I know it’s coming around the corner, and who knows, but it’s one of those hard truths to bear. There’s a lot of good stuff going on, and I say no to any opportunity that’s coming to my door I want to. So I don’t know when I’ll be back. But hopefully, it will be soon. I’ve been running for a very long time.”
