Arrest
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon on a misdemeanor complaint of aggravated menacing, according to court records.
The complaint was filed on Thursday in Hamilton County, Ohio. The Bengals said they are aware of the allegations against Mixon.
“The club is investigating the situation and will not be commenting further at this time,” a team spokesperson said in a statement Thursday.
According to the warrant, Mixon allegedly pointed a gun at a man on Jan. 21 and said the man should be “shot in the face.” The warrant says the incident occurred at the intersection of Walnut Street and East Third Street in Downtown Cincinnati, a day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
In a statement released to ESPN, Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaefer, said he expected Hamilton County officials to drop the charges Friday morning, adding that it was too early to make that decision.
“I really feel that the police have an obligation to do their job before filing charges — because it can damage the person’s reputation,” Schaefer said.
High School
Mixon was a football and basketball player for Freedom High School. He was a starter at RB all three years. He rushed for 1,134 yards and 13 touchdowns, 1,443 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 1,704 yards and 23 touchdowns in his sophomore, junior, and final year, respectively. He was also an adequate basketball player, averaging 12.2 ppg and a very poor free throw percentage of 57%. Mixon was a five-star recruit and one of the top-rated running backs in the country. In January 2014, he committed to the University of Oklahoma after receiving 47 offers.
Abuse
Former Oklahoma Sooners running back Joe Mixon punched a woman in the face in 2014, ESPN.com’s Jake Trotter reported Thursday, and she said the incident began when he and his friends made “unwanted sexual advances against her.” Make it.”
She also said it “escalated” after he used a gay slur towards her friend. Trotter cited a video interview with the woman where she told Norman, Oklahoma, police her side of the story.
Weight
Joe Mixon weighs 100 kg.
Suspension
The situation surrounding Mixon remains murky, but the NFL has a track record for how they traditionally handle off-field concerns. The league allows the legal system to be implemented before considering and handing down any decision, including a possible suspension.
Mixon’s current trial begins today (August 14) with the jury selection process. Mixon pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing stemming from a January 21 incident, where he was accused of pointing a gun at a woman and threatening her.
The victim accused Mixon, saying, “You should be punched in the face. I should shoot you. The police can’t catch me.” The victim also said Mixon had “road rage” during the incident.
