Hayes’s passion for hockey was built into the Dorchester Youth Hockey Program, which held a special place in his heart even after playing in the pros – his obituary encouraged people to donate to Dorchester Youth Hockey instead of sending them. Flowers.

Jimmy Hayes’ cause of death remained unclear even after the former NHL player’s autopsy, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Medical Examiner’s Office, told The Post on Wednesday.
The spokesman said toxicology testing is underway to help determine the cause of death, although results could take several weeks.
Hayes, a native of Dorchester, Mass., who won the national championship at Boston College and later played for the Bruins, died unexpectedly on Monday morning at his home outside Boston.
He was 31.
According to the spokesperson, it is not unusual for an autopsy report not to give a cause of death, especially in the case of a former athlete such as Hayes.
