Jimmy Richard Garoppolo, nicknamed Jimmy G, is an American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He played college football at Eastern Illinois, setting the school records for career passing yards and touchdowns and winning the Walter Payton Award as a senior.

The 49ers experienced the best and worst of Jimmy Garoppolo, all in one evening. Garoppolo helped the 49ers get off to a fast start, made some crucial mistakes that gave momentum of the game back to the Tennessee Titans, then had a clutch late drive that tied the game with 2:20 left.
The Titans answered with a clutch drive of their own, with a long Ryan Tannehill scramble setting up a game-winning field goal with four seconds left. Tennessee won 20-17.
