Jimmy Butler III (born September 14, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a year playing college basketball for Tyler Junior College, he transferred to Marquette University. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls as the 30th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. The Miami Heat lost Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals 93-80 on their home court in Florida on Wednesday night.

Injury report
The Miami Heat have listed Jimmy Butler as a suspect for Game 4 on Monday. Butler left the Heat’s Game 3 win in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Boston Celtics on Saturday night with a knee swelling. Butler played 19 minutes in the first half but did not come out of the locker room after halftime. It’s unclear whether there was a specific instance that flared up, but Butler has struggled with a knee problem throughout the playoffs.
He had previously missed Game 5 of the Heat’s first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks due to a knee swelling. In general, it has been an injury-filled season for Butler. He played only 57 games for a variety of reasons including ankle, tailbone, toe and shoulder issues.
Butler’s injury isn’t the only concern for the Heat going into Game 4. The NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year, Tyler Herro, is out for Game 4 with a groin problem. Kyle Lowry, Gabe Vincent, Max Strauss and PJ Tucker also joined Miami’s injury report on Monday morning.

Butler said after Monday’s loss that his ailing knee was not to blame for his struggle in that contest, but it seems logical that the injury was at least partially after the star forward made another poor shooting line in Game 5. is holding them back. Butler upset 7-for-32 (21.9 percent) in the last two encounters, which the Heat pulled back 3-2 in the series. He started the semi-finals by scoring 70 points in his first two matches, but averaged just 9.0 points in his subsequent three matches.
