Contract
OU offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby has agreed to a five-year contract to become the head football coach at Mississippi State, ESPN reported Sunday.
Lebby will replace Jack Arnett as Bulldogs coach, but he will have a familiar face in Starkville in the form of athletic director Jack Selman, a former Sooners deputy AD.
“Becoming the head coach at Mississippi State is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Lebby said in a release from Mississippi State. “My family and I are excited to immerse ourselves in this community, build relationships with our players and get involved in the recruiting process. This is a special place with special people and a football program with a storied tradition.
Under Lebby, OU ranked No. 3 nationally with 43.2 points on offense per game and No. 4 in total offense with 502.4 yards per game.
Who is
Director of Athletics Jack Selman announced Sunday that Jeff Lebby, a dynamic player and the mastermind behind many of college football’s most dangerous offenses, has been named the 36th head football coach in Mississippi State history.
Lebby is scheduled to arrive at George M. Bryan Airport in Starkville on Sunday night at 8 p.m. whistle. Fans are encouraged to join and welcome the Lebby family to Starkville. Lebby will be presented at a ceremony Monday at 7:30 p.m. CT outside the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex. The event is open to the public and will be followed by a press conference for the media inside the SEAL complex.

A former Oklahoma Sooners offensive lineman, Lebby graduated from OU in 2007. His college playing career was cut short due to injury, but he held a role as a student assistant for the program for four years.
