Celtics star Jason Tatum guided Boston to the NBA Finals Sunday night, and in the process earned the inaugural Larry Bird Trophy for Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
During Game 7 against the Heat, Jayson was seen sporting a purple “24” armband in honor of his idol, Kobe Bryant.
Tatum formed a bond with Bryant upon entering the league, and the two had worked together in the off-season for the Celtics star’s first two seasons in the NBA.
Bryant Tatum’s favorite player was growing up, and Tatum made sure to text the Lakers great late before Sunday night’s deciding Game 7 matchup.
