Life comes at you fast. In 2018, the ascendant Philadelphia Eagles pulled off an unexpected Super Bowl victory with the help of backup quarterback Nick Foles and the ingenious play-calling of head coach Doug Pederson.

Five years later, the Eagles are back in the big game, but only six players from that winning roster have returned for a second attempt at a Super Bowl ring.

Quarterbacks Foles and Carson Wentz are long gone, Pederson was fired after a disastrous 2020 season, and nearly everyone on that famous team serves as testament to the vagabond life of an NFL player.

Sacks allowed

He last allowed a sack in Week 11 in 2020. Both Johnson and Kelce have taken more than 1,200 pass-block snaps since last allowing a sack, good for the second and third longest active streaks in the NFL. Only Chargers center Corey Linsley (1,572 pass blocked snaps) has allowed more time allowing a sack.

Most NFL centers are anonymous and generally remain out of the public eye. Most NFL centers aren’t Jason Kelce, a potential future Hall of Famer for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is an industrial magnet of charisma, personality and leadership. He is also an All-Pro-caliber player.

In a new video from Kelce from Amazon Prime — a show that was supposed to document the final year of Kelce’s professional football career — we are reminded what Kelce means to Philadelphia.

The clip shows Kelce and the rest of the Eagles in a conference room before the Super Bowl 57 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs last February. And predictably, Kelce pours his heart out to his teammates and tries to channel the appropriate emotional energy for one of the biggest moments of their football lives.
