The Browns have given Jarvis Landry permission to seek a trade in the wake of their swap with the Cowboys for Amari Cooper, but they also haven’t ruled out bringing him back.

Moments after the Browns traded for Cooper, Landry’s camp asked if he could try to find a deal of his own that would enable him to make his full salary in 2022.

He’s due to make $15.1 million in salary and bonuses, and his cap hit is $16.379 million. If the Browns release or trade him, they’ll save $14.879 million on the cap.

A five-time Pro Bowler, Landry will turn 30 in November, and it might be hard to find takers at that price point. The Browns would still like to have Landry back, but not at his current rate.

They met with his reps last week about potentially restructuring the deal, but nothing was agreed upon at that time.

Landry didn’t conduct an official interview after his close friend Odell Beckham Jr. was released on Nov. 5.

His only media appearance after that came during his Thanksgiving Food Giveaway in Parma on Nov. 16, during which he noted, among other things, that his production was tied to not getting many opportunities and not the fact that he was knocking off the rust from his injury.

He also made it clear the receivers were doing the best they could with Baker Mayfield, who was playing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Almost everyone in the organization has stated recently how much Landry means to the Browns, and they genuinely want him back in 2022 at the right price.

“I think you guys know how I feel about Jarvis,’’ coach Kevin Stefanski said at the combine. “I know Jarvis knows how I feel about Jarvis. We will see how it all plays out.”
