Injury

Landry, a five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, issued a public pledge Thursday shortly before returning to practice as a limited participant. He was sitting outside on Monday and Wednesday sessions.

He admitted he was “very” nervous on October 21, when he suffered a new injury to his left knee in the fourth quarter of a 17–14 win over the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football”. This happened when cornerback Ronald Darby tackled him with 3:26 in the fourth quarter on a 7-yard reception. “But after the game and over the last few days, I feel much better,” said Landry.

Landry said the new injury stemmed from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Sept. 19 against the Houston Texans. Sprained MCL sidelined Landry for four matches.

Fantasy

The Cleveland Browns released wide receiver Jarvis Landry on Monday. Cleveland allowed Landry to seek a trade after acquiring Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend, but Landry would now be free to sign with any team. The 29-year-old pass-catcher was set for an un-guaranteed $14.3 million base salary in 2022, the final year of his five-year $75.5 million deal. Landry made the Pro Bowl five consecutive seasons from 2015–19, but his worst season was in 2021 with 52 catches for 570 yards and two touchdowns on 87 goals in 12 games. He dealt with Baker Mayfield’s injuries and a poor quarterback game to return to better health and shape.
