Jarrod Berry: Fantasy| Fanfooty| Shoulder| Injury
Jarrod Berry (born 5 February 1998) is an Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL).
He was drafted by Brisbane with their second pick and seventeenth overall in the 2016 national draft. He made his debut in round three of the 2017 season in a 31-point loss to St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
Fantasy
Lyons finished the home and away season with the second most Fantasy points, averaging 117 points per game.
This was a 10 point improvement over his previous season and a 20 point improvement over his first year as a Lion.
Can he maintain his Fantasy form?
Yes, if his second half of 2021 is any indication.
Lyons averaged 124 after the bye.
His season included ten 120-plus scores, with highs of 161 and 153.
A certain first-round pick in the Fantasy Draft.
Fanfooty
Geelong and Sydney are two of the most successful clubs of the twenty-first century.
The Swans have won two of the 17 available premierships and have appeared in five Grand Finals.
The Cats have won three flags, played in four Grand Finals, and have made it to at least preliminary final weekend in eight of the last eleven seasons.
The Cats were stunned by a 7 goal to nil opening term onslaught that effectively decided the game in Geelong’s most recent preliminary final against the Swans.
This Friday night’s match is the first between the teams since that game, and no doubt Chris Scott’s men are out for vengeance.
The fact that the game will be played at Kardinia Park gives the Cats a significant advantage
Shoulder
Berry is a bigger concern, with the young midfielder nursing a shoulder injury after a tackle in the second term.
“He’ll need some scans,” Fagan said.
“(We’re) hoping it’s just a two- or three-weeker and not a season-ending injury, but we won’t know until everything is checked out.”
“He’s convinced me the shoulder is fine, but these boys are tough and all they want to do is play.”
“I’m optimistic.”
McCarthy took the full force of Archie Smith’s knee in his quad before halftime, but he was able to finish the game.
He’ll be “touch and go” for Sydney.
Neale was back to his best, collecting 33 disposals and 19 contested, but his coach was not pleased.
Injury
Brisbane have lost seven players for Sunday’s AFL match against Essendon at the Gabba due to injuries and illness.
Keidean Coleman, Callum Ah Chee, and Dan McStay have been compelled to comply with the AFL’s health and safety protocols, while Jarrod Berry (hamstring) and Jaxon Prior (quad) have been ruled out due to injury.
The setbacks come after star duo Dayne Zorko and Daniel Rich suffered minor hamstring injuries in last week’s 41-point victory over the Western Bulldogs.
Mitch Robinson and Ryan Lester have been named to make their comebacks, while Nakia Cockatoo could make his first AFL appearance since round five after being named to the extended bench.
The return of vice-captain Andrew McGrath has boosted Essendon’s chances (adductor).
